Tips for UCLA Clinical Trials site navigation

  • When you click on a specific trial, there is  an “enroll” button that starts the eligibility screening and enrollment process for that trial by putting you in touch with the study team. Going through this process will help answer any questions about eligibility based on diagnosis, previous treatments and other factors.

Tips for Navigating Clinical Trials.gov

  • You can search by condition, location, and even type of treatments you may be interested in. If you are interested in the Alpha Clinic's work, some recommended search terms are "CAR-T" "CAR-NKT" and "Immunotherapy"

  • Once you searched based on your key words, you will find some trials relevant to what you searched. Since you are looking to be part of the study, look out for the green "Recruiting" tag on the study since that means they are actively looking for people to join. If there is a red tag with "Active Not Recruiting" "Terminated" or "Completed" that means these studies are not looking for participants.

  • If you find a recruiting study of interest, scroll down to the contacts and locations section. There, you will find emails and/or phone numbers to reach out to the study team. Reaching out the these emails and/or numbers will be a good way to get started with the screening process and see if you are eligible for the study.
